As a part of the United City's commitment to shepherd children, we will exercise all due diligence in selecting people to lead and serve in ministries for vulnerable people. As part of this vetting, a ministerial staff member who has leadership responsibilities over a specific area will interview all prospective serve team. This interview will be documented and recorded.

Personal Reference | Referencia personal

As a part of the UC Serve commitment to shepherd children, we will exercise all due diligence in selecting people to lead and serve in ministries for vulnerable people. As part of this vetting, a ministerial staff member who has leadership responsibilities over a specific area will conduct a reference check of the personal references provided by the candidate. As a minimum, the following questions will be asked, and the subject's answers recorded.

Questions asked will be:
1. How long and in what capacity do you know the applicant?
2. Do you have any knowledge of (personal observation or third-party information) the applicant causing harm to or allowing harm to come to a vulnerable person?
3. God calls us to be beyond reproach. Is there anything about the applicant's character that United City Church should be made aware of?

If yes to any of these questions, an explanation is required.

Note: A vulnerable person is defined as a minor, elderly or physically/mentally challenged individual.

Como una parte del compromiso de “UC Serve” de pastorear niños, ejerceremos la debida diligencia en la selección de personas para dirigir y servir en ministerios de personas vulnerables. Como parte de esta investigación, un miembro del personal ministerial que tenga responsabilidades de liderazgo sobre un área específica, conducirá una verificación de referencia de las referencias personales provistas por el candidato. Como mínimo, las siguientes preguntas serán hechas, y la respuesta del sujeto serán grabadas.

As a SERVE TEAM member at United City Church, I understand that I am a representative of Christ and this church. My actions, both inside and outside church, should reflect the values and mission of United City Church. I commit to upholding the following standards:

I will strive to live in a way that honors God by pursuing spiritual growth and integrity in my daily life.

I will treat fellow serve team members, staff, and guests with kindness, patience, and respect, fostering unity within the body of Christ.

I will uphold honesty in both my words and actions, consistently taking responsibility for my commitments and outcomes of my behavior.

SERVING EXPECTATIONS
Faithfulness & Commitment - 1 Corinthians 15:58
I will be prepared, arrive on time, and follow through with my responsibilities while serving.

I will work collaboratively with other team members, following the direction of church leadership with a humble and teachable heart.

I will respect the privacy of others and maintain integrity in regard to church systems.

LIFESTYLE RESTRICTIONS
Substance Use & Abuse - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
I will refrain from using illegal drugs, abusing alcohol, or engaging in any other form of substance abuse.
Sexual Purity - 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4
I will uphold biblical standards of purity, steering clear of sexual immorality or any actions that could compromise my testimony or my role.
Upholding a Positive Witness - Matthew 5:16
I will avoid speech, actions, or social media posts that could misrepresent my faith or United City Church, including gossip, division, or inappropriate content.
Legal & Ethical Behavior - Romans 13:1
I will not engage in any illegal, unethical, or abusive behavior that could damage my testimony or the reputation of United City Church.

I have read and understand the expectations outlined in this Expectations Agreement. I agree to uphold these values and represent United City Church in a way that reflects Christ. If my actions or conduct fall short of these expectations, I understand that it may result in a conversation with leadership and could impact my ability to continue serving.
